GRAND-FALLS, NB, September 15th, 2022 – Paul Leclerc High Performance Hockey announces two new winter programs that will allow serious players in our region to develop further.
Starting the week of October 24th, 2022, elite or competitive-level players will be able to jump on the ice one to two additional times a week. To ensure that there are no scheduling conflicts, these programs will be offered in the morning before the start of the school day. The founder of Paul Leclerc Hockey Haute Performance Inc. is proud to be able to continue impacting hockey in the region: “I am happy to be able to try and reduce the gap in ice time for players in our region compared to those in major centers. We have a lot of talent in our region and so far, fewer development opportunities. I hope this camp can help change that.” After what happened last September, Paul wanted to continue helping young hockey players in the region. “I really liked coaching under the PTA banner because the program was close to my heart and I had not yet achieved all the objectives I had set at the start of my tenure. However, as I tell my players, we can’t always control what’s going on around us and PTA wanted to go in another direction.” Although it was hard to swallow, as a leader Paul had to turn the page quickly: “What’s done, is done and I have to look forward. With the creation of Paul Leclerc Hockey Haute Performance Inc., I can continue to help young people while staying true to my values. All this while waiting for my next coaching opportunity to arise.”
We have a lot of talent in our region and so far, fewer development opportunities.

The first program will be called “Early Riser”. It will consist of one skills session per week for eight weeks before the Christmas break and another eight weeks after the Christmas break. These sessions will be in addition to the practices of the athletes’ respective teams offering weekly a similar amount of ice time to the major regions of our province. The program is designed to improve the hockey skills and performance of players (U11-U13-U15) who wish to play at the elite level. Receiving weekly professional instruction in addition to regular ice time will accelerate development and certainly provide a significant advantage.
In addition to the “Early Riser” program, a second winter program will be offered. This program will be different as it will be limited to twelve skaters and by invitation only. The “Club des Douzes” will be for players not only with a high level of skill but more importantly an above-average work ethic as well as a good attitude. The love for hockey will be crucial as a bonus session every two weeks will be added, bringing the total number of monthly sessions to six. This extra bi-weekly session will be dedicated to skating. During this session, we will have four coaches on the ice resulting in a 3:1 player-to-coach ratio! The cost of these programs is available on our website under Winter Camps and registration is already possible.
