At the start of each season, we sit down with the players individually and go over the role they will be playing (to start the year). We also explain to them that their role will be dynamic, meaning it will change during the year. \u00a0It is essential to start on the right foot and explain it as clearly as possible. We do this knowing that 80-85% of the players will be asked to play roles that would not be their first pick. There\u2019s only one #1 center on any given hockey team, one or two power-play quarterbacks, one starting goalie, etc. These more \u201cprestigious\u201d roles represent only 10-15% of the team\u2019s total roles."}
